Rain falling down, local police, fire and hazmat teams swarm the site near Lake Shore Drive early Saturday, not knowing what to expect. One officer – the first to investigate the report of an unusual odor – is down and rushed to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock. It’s not known
whether anyone is inside the home or if they are armed. Every step is crucial to keeping law enforcement and fire officials and the surrounding area safe.

To bystanders, the scene looked life-threatening, and that’s exactly how the four-hour hazmat drill is supposed to appear, McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren said.”
