Scheduled for Friday is McHenry County State’s Attorney Louis Bianchi- his FIFTH appearance at Take a Stand- and Congresswoman Melissa Bean! Astrid Larsen Clinical Supervisor of McHenry County Crisis Line, domestic violence survivor Carolyn Cox Mahoney, Renee Shopp of Direct Service Counseling discussing how abusers can change, Sergeant Brett Wisnauski of the Algonquin Police Department, Sandy Lewis of the Mental Health Board, and race car driver Jessica Brannam along with check presentations from Krista Lackey, president of the Design Alliance at the Illinois Institute of Art and Diane Susong of Home State Bank. We’ll also have some “behind the scenes” information from Turning Point staffers Jennifer Kenning (Volunteer Coordinator) and Melissa McGraw Coordinator of the Partner Abuse Intervention Program). We’ll also be visited by a recent resident of the Turning Point shelter who will tell us about the changes Turning Point has helped her to make and her plans for the future. Then, at 6:00 PM, Alex and the All-Stars will perform, followed by Friction at 8:00 PM.

 

SATURDAY-

 

Bev Thomas Family Violence Coordinating Council, Joan Rexroat, Karen Battaglia and Joan Rembacz from Centegra will discuss what happens when a domestic violence victim comes into the emergency room, we’ll wrap up the Bards BeCAUSE campaign and recognize all the contributions made by volunteers at Turning Point! It’s also Family Fun Day with kids games (with prizes), Nino the Magician, face painting, touch-a-truck and so much more! We’ll also have check presentations from McDonalds, Centegra and Catalent Employees!
