A letter from today’s NW Herald:
Each day I open the paper and pray that I will not have to read another story of someone in my neighborhood who was injured or even killed by someone in their family. I keep doing the work I do because it takes all of us to stop the violence.
On Aug. 6 and 7, Turning Point will celebrate “Take a Stand for Turning Point,” its fifth annual Star 105.5 Radiothon – this time at Algonquin Commons. Please come down to make a donation, or go online at www.mchenrycountyturningpoint.org and click on “donate now.”
We all have a sister, a mother, a friend, an aunt, cousin, or co-worker whose life has been impacted deeply by violence at the hands of someone they love.
We know that when women suffer violence in their homes, their children either witness the violence, or get hurt, too.
Help us to continue to be here for them 24 hours each day, 365 days each year.
If you need help, please call Turning Point at 815-338-8081 or the McHenry County Crisis Line at 1-800-892-8900.
