Take a Stand for Turning Point! 2007

On August 17 & 18, Star 105.5 will again urge listeners to "Take a Stand for Turning Point" with a 36 hour Radiothon.

Morning hosts "Gary & Paula" will broadcast from Sam's Club in Crystal Lake starting at 6 AM Friday the 17th and Paula McKay will stay on the air until 6 PM Saturday the 18th directing listeners to come on down or call Turning Point and make a donation.

Last year, this event raised $80,000 and helped to open the agency's shelter for victims of domestic violence.

The event will feature non-stop entertainment and events at the Sam's Club broadcast location.

Event Updates

Details will be announced on the Gary & Paula Morning show from 5 AM to 10 AM weekdays on Star 105.5. There will be additional performances and activities added as the event approaches.

Friday & Saturday

Conscious Cup Coffee, Goldie's Scones and the Northwest Herald will be on site to give donors their morning coffee, newspaper and scone to start the day.

Masseuse Betty Dietrich will giving Ashiatsu Oriental massage in exchange for donations to Turning Point. This technique involves massaging the back with bare feet. From 10-2 both days.

Afternoon

Appearance of several local politicians, including McHenry Mayor Susan Low at eleven AM and county board member Tina Hill at noon.

At 2:30, two musical groups from Algonquin's Light of Christ Lutheran Church will perform, starting with the New Hope Gospel Quartet, followed immediately by the Good News Praise Band.

Games & stories from "Characters of Character."

11:30 - Good News Band from Light of Christ Lutheran Church

Baggo Tournament at Galt Airport

10 AM - Gary Castaldo of Star 105.5's Gary & Paula will host a Baggo tournament at Galt Airport.
